VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Commission listened intently for two hours as the construction manager opened 72 bids for the proposed jail and law enforcement center on Tuesday, June 30th in the courthouse.
Barnes County Commission president Bill Carlblom talked about the bid process and said it will take a few days before the total cost to build a new jail from these bids is released.
Carlblom said more details about the jail bids will be discussed at their regular meeting on July 7th.
Under the proposed plan, a new jail and law enforcement center would be built east of the existing National Guard facility along the I-94 frontage road in Valley City.
