JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There are some new faces on the Jamestown City Council.
The city held an organizational meeting following the final meeting of the previous council. Brian Kamlitz and David Schloegel were both newly elected with Dan Buchanan being elected for a third term.
Councilmember Steve Brubakken thanked the public for allowing him to serve the council for the past 8 years. Brubakken did not run for reelection in the June primary.
Councilmember Pam Phillips addressed the new council after they were sworn in, imparting some wisdom and encouragement moving forward.
Mayor Dwaine Heinrich spoke to the work that has been done the last two years he’s served as mayor. He thanked Phillips and Brubakken for what they brought to the council and what the council has been able to accomplish.
Buchanan added that the new members would have a “learning curve” and to not be afraid to ask for guidance moving forward.
Kamlitz, Schloegel, and Buchanan were all sworn in Tuesday, June 23rd and will each serve a four-year term through June 2024.
Abbagail Geroux was also sworn in to serve as Assistant City Prosecutor and Assistant City Attorney for a two-year term through 2022.
