VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Historical Society is celebrating 90 years as an organization this month. Spokesman Wes Anderson said the Historical Society is also honoring the efforts of local famous women’s suffragette Elizabeth Preston Anderson.
Anderson had this interesting tail about how Herman Stern of Valley City had to prepare for the visit of former president William Howard Taft.
He also talked about how Chautauqua Park got its name in Valley City.
