JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Lucas Hendrickson and Hudson Schmitz had two hits each for the Redbirds but the Jamestown Blues 16’s scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come from behind and get the victory 7-5 on Thursday afternoon at Jack Brown Stadium. Jamestown improves to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in District 4, Carrington drops 0-3 overall and 0-2 in District 4.
The Redbirds scored two runs in the top of the first inning, Schmitz had an RBI single and later Seth Nelson scored after he reached on an error. They added two more runs in the top of the second and had the lead 4-1 after three innings of play. The Blues would score two runs in the home half of the fourth and then a big sixth inning to take the lead for good. Mason Lunzman picked up the victory on the mound, working six innings on 97 pitches, six strikeouts, Jackson Walters got the save. Hendrickson started on the mound for the Redbirds, working five innings on 71 pitches, five runs, one earned, three strikeouts and three walks. Seth Nelson took the loss, working an inning, two runs, zero earned and three strikeouts.
