JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Tourism is finding ways to adapt this summer as the state loosens up COVID-19 restrictions.
Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund says while there may be a new look to tourism this summer, there’s still plenty of opportunities for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy the area.
Swedlund says the approach will be the rediscover aspect, making Jamestown a road trip destination this summer.
To do this, Swedlund says they’ll highlight historical stops such as Fort Seward and the Historic 1883 Courthouse. While these sites have been around for more than 100 years, there’s something new to see at them both this summer.
Searle added that there are plenty of outdoor things Jamestown has to offer this summer including two new trails.
Swedlund says other sites include different concessionaires for the lakeside area; The Lazy Fish and The Jim Marina.
Another new challenge for Jamestown Tourism this year is overseeing the Frontier Village.
