JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Safety is at the forefront of the staff at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) as they continue to accept more urgent, emergent, and elective surgeries and procedures.

Earlier this year, the hospital postponed all elective surgeries in preparation of the novel coronavirus. In May, they announced they would once again begin offering time-sensitive procedures along with urgent and emergent procedures.

JRMC CEO and President Mike Delfs says they are returning to surgeries while taking care to maintain safety of staff and the public.

Delfs says they continue to rely heavily on their practitioners when it comes to observing if the patient can receive services. He added that they are encouraging anyone who may need to visit the hospital to do so and not put it off any longer.

Dr. Michael T. Dean, JRMC Chief of Surgery, says on the surgical side, they have begun taking much more precautions for theirs and the public’s safety.

Dr. Dean added that some reassurance in visiting the hospital was the low count of COVID-19 cases in the region.

Marketing Manager Katie Ryan-Anderson stated the biggest thing the public can take away as things begin to open up again is that they’re ready when you’re ready.
