JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was called out Wednesday afternoon to a controlled burn that had spread into some adjacent acres.

The call came in just before 2:30 PM to a corn stubble field about six miles south and one mile west of Jamestown. Officials say the controlled burn got away, causing damage to roughly 3 or 4 acres. No injuries were reported.

20 rural fire department firefighters and six units were on the scene for just over an hour.
