JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown was asked what the latest information was surrounding sidewalk dining in the downtown area.

Jim Boyd of Sabir’s Buffalo Grill inquired about the latest with the project.

City Administrator Sarah Hellekson stated that the North Dakota Department of Transporation and city needed to come to an agreement with possible dining on the sidewalk along First Avenue, which is also considered state Highway 281 and Highway 52.

Assistant City Attorney Abby Geroux says they’ve been working on the ordinance, which was up for a second reading in the meeting.

The second reading was approved.

The council also awarded the Sanitary Sewer Main Lift Station Engine Generator project to Advantage Electric in the amount of $287.500.

During the Mayor and Council Member’s report, Councilmember Dan Buchanan discussed the George Floyd protests, which have been seen nationwide.

The meeting also marked the final regular city meeting for Councilmember Steve Brubakken, who will not be running for re-election in the June primary.
