JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown/Stutsman County Complete Count Committee reports that Stutsman County has surpassed its self-response from the 2010 Census.
In 2010, Stutsman County’s final self-response rate for the Census was 67.6%. As of May 28th, the county has reached 67.8% with months to go.
“Higher self-response rates mean fewer people are likely to be missed or counted inaccurately and fewer households will have a visit from a census taker to be counted in-person,” the data states. “It also means the county has a better chance at receiving its fair share of services and political representation.”
West Fargo continues to lead the state through self-response with 75.6%, followed by Carrington with a 72% response rate.
In the community competition between Jamestown and Valley City, Jamestown leads with a 70.2% response rate and Valley City has 68.2%.
Residents can still self-respond to the 2020 Census online at 2020census.gov, calling 844-330-2020 or by responding to the paper questionnaire sent by mail.
