COGSWELL, ND (NewsDakota.com) – A 16 year-old boy died from injuries suffered in a one vehicle rollover on Monday, May 18th a mile and-a-half north of Cogswell, North Dakota.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the driver, Tanner Peterson of Forman, ND was traveling south on Sargent County Road 4 around 9:25pm when his 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a deer in the roadway.

The jeep lost control, entered the east ditch and rolled multiple times causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle. Peterson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Highway Patrol said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash which remains under investigation with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Funeral arrangements for Peterson are being handled with the Price Funeral Home in Britton, South Dakota.
