VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Even though there will not be a physical Scheels All-Star softball series played due to the COVID 19 pandemic, 34 seniors from across the state of North Dakota will still be recognized as a 2020 Scheels All-Star.
One of the those 34 is Jessie Undem from Valley City. With the 2020 softball season cancled because of the coronavirus, Undem’s career wrapped up in 2019 as part of a state tournament team that placed third last spring.
Undem hit .359 with three homers as a junior…school record holder for most putouts in a season (249)…had a .996 fielding percentage at the catcher’s position…voted team’s Hardest Worker…played for FM Ballyard Blaze…four-year letterwinner in softball.
Undem will be recognized several ways despite no game. She will get a plaque for her achievement, a commemorative jersey, social media spotlight, state-wide press release, and an All-Star zoom session.
Undem will continue he education and softball career next fall at MSU Moorhead.
