VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liner boys basketball team held a virtual awards banquet via zoom Tuesday evening with all of the High School boys basketball players and their families.
Here are the awards given ou:
Managers of the Year: Amber Knutson and Morgyn Maine
Most Improved: Adam Bitz
Hustle Award: Derrek Diegel
Communication Award: Arie Bratrud
Defensive MVP: Drew Zaun
Floor Burn Award: Alex Thornton
Spirit Award: Drew Zaun
Teammate of the Year: Mitchel Taylor
They also recognized Peyton Zaun for earning his selection to the All-EDC Team. The following players were also recognized for lettering: Mitchel Taylor, Alex Thornton, Derrek Diegel, Drew Zaun, Peyton Zaun, Jared Eggermont, Carson McGough, and Adam Bitz.
Head Coach Alex Quist said “Obviously we would’ve preferred to do this in person, but it was still great seeing all of the boys again. It was important that we made it a priority to celebrate the hard work and dedication our basketball teams put forth this year. I’m extremely proud of the effort and commitment they put in this year — all of the coaches agree that they were a joy to coach!
