VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Mayor Dave Carlsrud lifted two emergency orders last month.
One order, required all transient/temporary merchant activity (portable food stands) to cease until the order was lifted.
But on May 5th, the Valley City Commission directed the City Attorney Carl Martineck to draft an ordinance requiring mobile vendors to obtain a permit from the city prior to operating within Valley City limits. That ordinance will be considered at a future city commission meeting.
Meanwhile, the city commission agreed to waive the first half of the 2020-21 alcoholic beverage license fee for licensees that were closed by state executive order due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Martineck said the city commission will evaluate additional fee waivers in six months.
