VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Valley City High School principal Kristi Brandt and other staff members handed out 84 bags that contained Caps, Gowns, Stoles and Tassels to Seniors. Those who are Honor Society members received their honor cord and those who are high honor students also received their honor medals.

Brandt said due to the uncertainty of the post-graduation party; The parents of graduating seniors also arranged for each student to receive a $20 cash card from the Post-graduation Party fund. Students were encouraged to use the cash cards at any of our local businesses of Valley City.

Brandt had this message to the Seniors: “I understand this is a tough way to end your time at Valley City High School. Please remember that your career as a Hi-liner is not defined by the last quarter of your Senior year. All of the amazing things you have already accomplished and learned and how you respond to all of the experiences you will continue to encounter is what defines you. We miss you and encourage each of you to finish strong and stay healthy and well. You’ve got this and we are all here to support you.”
