VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A few bars across the state have violated the governor’s executive order to close their bars to on-sale patrons during the coronavirus pandemic. So far 13 citations to seven bars have been issued for this infraction.
Barnes County State’s Attorney Tonya Duffy said the offense carries a maximum penalty a $1,000 fine. She said jail time is not a potential penalty with this infraction.
One Barnes County bar, located in Fingal, ND was cited on April 2nd after the owner allegedly violated the governor’s executive order by selling alcohol to his patrons on site instead of off-sale according to the governor’s executive order.
