JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission heard the latest regarding emergency relief (ER) road sites that have been identified.
County Commissioner Dave Schwartz says five sites were originally designated as ER sites. He says to do ER funded grade raises, the costs is elevated greatly.
The county’s share would be $968,557.13 with the rest being covered by federal. He says some of that cost is wetland mitigation, but says it won’t be necessary.
Schwartz says they could address the needs of these roads through emergency funds, but says they could do them on their own to save money.
These sites include Streeter County Road #37, Valley Spring County Road #67, Paris County Road #67, and Round Top County Road #42. Schwartz made the motion to get quotes on three sites before moving forward.
The commission moved to look into the potential cost savings of paying for the road fixes themselves as opposed to ER funded grade raises for Streter, Paris, and Round Top.
