JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board met in regular session Monday evening.
On the agenda was the discussion of the graduation ceremony for JHS seniors and their families.
“Our senior families need to have a better date to work with than what is currently in place due to the uncertainty of the pandemic,” Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech says in his report.
Dr. Lech added that there remains some uncertainty moving forward, but discussion with staff, counselors, administration and students, July 26th would be a suitable option.
Dr. Lech says the date also coincides with the available dates at the Jamestown Civic Center. He added that a formal decision and motion will be made at the May board meeting.
“Regardless of the date, however, our correspondence to families is that we will need to consider a summer ceremony due to the regulations surrounding COVID-19,” Dr. Lech stated.
Dr. Lech says they are still in conversation regarding Prom and if it would be reasonable to hold once the regular school year is completed.
