VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Did you know the Education Foundation has a program called ‘Access for All’ that provides behavioral health services to Valley City Public School students for Free.

Behavioral health is a topic that is talked about a lot, especially during times like these. Since students are not physically in a school building right at this moment where they have direct access to a teacher or school counselor, it’s important as parents and caregivers to check in with your kids to make sure that they are navigating through this unprecedented time to the best of their abilities. They could be experiencing so much stress and anxiety that they themselves don’t know how to handle their feelings.

Shari Larson is the Executive Director of the Education Foundation for Valley City Public Schools. She said sometimes as parents and caregivers it’s more than you are capable of dealing with, and that’s ok. We encourage you to reach out to your school counselor and they can help! Students who qualify for ‘Access for All’ services will meet with Katie Youngbauer, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor from The Village Family Service Center.

Larson said, the ‘Access for All’ program exists solely on grants and donations. She added, without the support from organizations such as Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation, Burgum Foundation, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and Cass County Electric Cooperative Foundation, along with all of the individual donations that we receive, we could not offer a service like this. If you would like more information on ‘Access for All’ and/or are interested in supporting this much needed program, please contact Shari Larson at shari.larson@k12.nd.us or by call Monday through Friday at 701-845-0483, Ext.1.
