VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The rosters for the 2020 North Dakota High School Coaches Association/Optimists All-Star volleyball series were announced Friday, and Macy Olstad from Valley City will be representing the East All-Stars.

Olstad wrapped up a great career with the Hi-Liner volleyball team in 2019. She helped the Hi-Liners reach the state tournament for the second time in school history and the second time in the last three years. The Hi-Liners were 18-14 on the season and took sixth at the tournament, losing to Jamestown in an exciting five set match in the consolation final.

Olstad had 41 kills and 37 digs in the tournament. She, along with teammate Lindsey Noeske were named to the All-State Tournament team. Olstad also was named to the All-State second team and the All-East Region team along with teammate Cali Halgrimson.

The senior outside hitter lead Valley City in kills this season with 322. And she was tied with Alyssa Hatcher for second in digs with 307.

During the 2019 season, Olstad reached the 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs plateau.

The All-Star series is scheduled to be played Monday June 15th at Fargo Davies High School and Tuesday June 16th at Bismarck Century High School. The best graduated high school seniors from the East take on the best from the west in this two match series.
