CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several members of the Foster County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) hosted a briefing on the latest regarding COVID-19 locally.

CHI St. Alexius Health Vice President of Patient Care Jodi Hovdenes says at this time, they have tested several residents with all tests coming back negative.

Hovdnes says they continue to monitor supplies and meet to ensure they’re prepared for any assistance they may need to provide.

Foster County Commission Chairman David Utke says they’ve adjusted to allow public participation at their meetings through virtual means. He added that efforts by Foster County residents aren’t going unnoticed as they work to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the county.

Utke says compliance by residents and businesses has also been critical in stopping the spread of the disease.

Carrington Mayor Tom Erdmann added that an emergency declaration passed by the city also lines up with the declaration passed by the county. This will allow both Carrington and Foster County access to any potential funding that may be available in response to the pandemic.

Mayor Erdmann says the city also continues to meet virtually. He added that local businesses should look into different options for assistance during this time if they need it.
