VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Back in 1994, a group of tennis lovers started an organization to help teach the sport to the young people of Valley City. The Valley City Tennis Association was born.
Now over 25 years later the VCTA is still going strong. And the United States Tennis Association has taken notice. Recently there was an article about the VCTA on the USTA website. Erik Kringlie, president of the VCTA, says what makes this recognition so special is the company that they are in.
Some of people that started the association are still volunteering and Kringlie says that speaks volumes.
Kringlie says he is starting to see the next generation of Valley City tennis players in the VCTA.
With the indefinite postponement of the spring sports season, two Hi-Liners who are seniors may not get a chance to play as Hi-Liners this season. But Kringlie has this message to Cali Halgrimson and Hope Peterson.
The VCTA has several events planned for this summer. Kringlie says as of now, no changes in that schedule. Kringlie, like the rest of us, hope that no changes in summer plans will happen.
Here is the complete interview with Erik Kringlie.
