JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Fire Department responded to a reported fire at Edgewood Senior Living Center in Jamestown just before 1 PM Wednesday.
Officials report that when on scene, the cause of the fire was found to be a failed fixture, which caused moderate smoke damage. The fire had been extinguished by an employee before crews arrived. Residents and staff were all evacuated for about an hour while crews tended the scene. An employee was transported to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
Five city fire units and 22 firefighters were on the scene. Jamestown Ambulance and the Jamestown Police Department were on scene to assist.
