JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During the most recent media briefing in Jamestown, Child Care Licensing Supervisor Julie Opp stated that a majority of area daycare providers remain open and continue to operate.
Opp stated that three childcare providers in Stutsman County had decided to close their doors, but more than 50 made the decision to remain open while taking extra precautions.
Opp stated that Governor Doug Burgum had passed several orders giving incentive for daycare’s to keep operating during the outbreak.
Opp says this will keep daycare’s open for essential care workers and others, but they are prioritizing essential workers. She says each provider is also setting their own guidelines when it comes to operations.
Opp encourages those with questions to visit dhs.gov for different services and information on the operating grants for childcare.
