VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Valley City man was arrested after leading Highway Patrol troopers on a pursuit south of Valley City early Saturday.
North Dakota Highway Patrol Sergeant Ben Kennelly reports that at around 1:33 AM, a trooper attempted to stop Zander Johnson, 18, of Valley City for an equipment violation.
“When Johnson failed to stop for the trooper, a pursuit ensued,” Sgt. Kennelly reports. “The trooper attempted to stop Johnson on Hwy 1, nine miles south of Valley City in Barnes County. Johnson fled south on Hwy 1 at speeds up to 120 mph.”
The suspect slowed and pulled over shortly after the pursuit was initiated. Johnson was taken into custody without further incident and is charged with fleeing and DUI.
Barnes County Sheriff’s Office and Valley City PD assisted in the incident.
