BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) reports that two more COVID-19 tests have come back positive, bringing the states total to 30.

The NDDoH reports that 173 total tests were taken today, bringing the overall total to 1,355 with 1,325 returning negative results.

In his latest address, Governor Doug Burgum says they are also up to 4 cases that have been hospitalized. He says now is not a time to become complacent.

Burgum says ongoing efforts to prevent the spread will help ensure the state has the capacity and equipment to meet the growing needs.

He added that social distancing should be in effect statewide, no matter if the area is rural or urban.

On Saturday, Governor Burgum announced he had signed an executive order allowing pharmacists to conduct swab testing for the virus, with samples then sent to a lab for analysis. Pharmacists will also be able to refill prescriptions in certain cases without waiting for approval from a doctor.

He also announced that the state tax filing deadline will be extended to July 15.
