JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Saturday, March 7th, the Stutsman County 4-H Livestock Judging team competed at the State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest at NDSU in Fargo.

73 senior contestants placed ten classes and 102 juniors placed six classes of livestock that included goat, sheep, swine and beef species. Additionally, they each had to give three sets of oral reasons for three classes.

Cale Redlin, Woodworth, was our single junior competitor.

Nine senior members competed and as a team, placed 3rd out of 17 teams, only one point behind 2nd place.

Members and their individual top 20 placing are: Kelsey Vandeberghe, Cleveland, 11th overall, 4th in beef, 7th in swine and 8th in reasons; Alexis Vandeberghe, Cleveland, 15th overall, 15th in beef, 8th in swine, and 13th in reasons; Abby Helm, Cleveland, 17th overall; Billy VanEpps, Cleveland, 18th overall; Evyn Dick, Courtenay, 8th in sheep; Dylan Cleghorn, Jamestown; Tamika Holte, Jamestown, 17th in sheep; Alexa Carlson, and Chloe Carlson both of Spiritwood.

The teams were coached by Jenny Vandehoven, Medina.
