JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Game & Fish Department reports that the moose, elk, and bighorn sheep applications are open through March 25th.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier reports that right now, there are a few more elk tags available, but less moose tags for the season.
Leier added that these hunts are difficult and challenge, so be sure that you have the time to do scouting and can be ready for the hunt.
In other outdoor news, Leier says the snow geese migration is happening, slowly but surely.
Residents are also reminded that March 15th is the deadline for ice house removal. You’re still encouraged to ice fish and can bring your ice house onto the ice past that date, but you cannot leave it on the ice after March 15th.
