VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The following is a news release issued by Josh Johnson the Superintendent of the Valley City Public School District.

Johnson said the Valley City Public Schools is continuing to closely monitor the rapidly changing circumstances surrounding the spread of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in our region and across the nation.

Johnson said we have continued to be in consultation with City-County Health District officials of Barnes County and the North Dakota Department of Health.

He said we will continue to implement the preventative measures that were shared as a communication resource with our students, staff, and parents on Tuesday, March 10th. We have linked these resources to an email and our website to continue to provide guidance to our community. We are also continuing to prepare and plan for a possible direct impact of COVID-19 in our school and community.

Valley City Public Schools is sponsoring several student out of state travel events prior to the end of March. We will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19, consult with health officials, and prepare to make a decision regarding these travel events on or before Wednesday, March 18th.
