PIERRE, S.D (NewsDakota.com) – The South Dakota Department of Health is reporting the state’s first confirmed cases of Coronavirus virus.  There also is a reported death that may be related to the virus.

On Tuesday South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem held a press conference to announce that there are 5 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the state and 1 death.  Although Gov. Noem said that it’s not been confirmed that the person died from Covid-19.  She said the man from Pennington County was in his 60’s and did have other underlying health issues.
