VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – John Froehlich has been a Barnes County Commissioner for 12 years. He told reporter Steve Urness that he will not seek re-election in the November 2020 election as he approaches his 80th birthday this year.
Froehlich talked about some of the projects that he supported over the years as a county commissioner in this interview during the North Dakota Agriculture Hall of Fame Ceremony.
Anyone living in John Froehlich’s Barnes County District thinking about running for the position should take out a petition and get the necessary signatures to run. Petitions are available from the Barnes County Auditor’s office in Valley City.
Once a new person is elected in November, they will be sworn into office in December of 2020.
