VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Ag Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held March 3rd during the annual Chamber Ag Appreciation Social at the North Dakota Winter Show.

One honoree was Dr. Vern Anderson of Carrington. He talked about one of his accomplishments as former animal scientist.

Another honoree was Jim and Jody Hauge of Mandan. He and his wife have run a beef and hog operation for four decades.

The 2020 Crop Show Honoree was Galen Briese. He was a livestock, dairy and small grain farmer near Tappen, ND before retiring near Erie, ND.

The Rutledge Kane Showmanship Award went to Deann Berntson of Kulm, ND.

There were also three National Ag Day Essay contest winners recognized during the ceremony on March 3rd. Brenda Tyre of the VCSU Department of Business presented Emma Baasch of Maple Valley High School and Mya Anderson a Senior at VCHS with their certificates. Halley Marohl a Senior at Valley City High School captured first place.
