BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota’s spring light goose conservation order opens February 22nd and runs through May 10th.

While spring may not necessarily be here just yet, Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier reports that the season gets a jump start on the hunt.

Leier says now’s the time to prepare for their arrival by getting your new Harvest Information Program (HIP) number.

Leier says you don’t need a duck stamp, but to take care of those administrative details before the birds arrive.

He also reminds anglers or outdoor enthusiast to be cautious on the ice.

You can listen to Doug Leier chat the great outdoors with JD in the Morning on Big Dog 95.5 FM every Thursday at 7:35 AM.
