WASHINGTON, D.C. (NewsDakota.com) – Several area airports will be receiving some grant funding for different projects.

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded Airport Improvement Program (AIP) entitlement grants totaling $4,678,890 for airports in North Dakota, including:

· Minot International Airport – $2,066,154 to reconstruct apron and taxiway pavement and provide additional aircraft parking.

· Rolla Municipal Airport – $661,500 to construct a hangar building for aircraft storage, maintenance or service.

· Tioga Municipal Airport – $455,000 to rehabilitate apron pavement and reconstruct taxiway.

· Ellendale Municipal Airport – $454,488 to construct a taxiway to aircraft hangars.

· Grand Forks International Airport – $386,948 to conduct an environmental assessment related to a proposed runway extension.

· Washburn Municipal Airport – $342,000 to construct a fuel facility.

· Barnes County Municipal Airport – $150,000 for taxiway, apron and hangar pavement maintenance and sealing.

· Oakes Municipal Airport – $82,800 for taxiway, runway and apron pavement maintenance and sealing.

· Crosby Municipal Airport – $80,000 for runway, taxiway, hangar and apron pavement maintenance and sealing.

“These grants will help provide necessary updates and improvements to our local airports,” said Hoeven. “With our state’s growing economy, it’s vital we invest in our infrastructure to ensure our airports continue operating safely and efficiently.”
