VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City scored the first six points of the game and held top ranked Devils Lake scoreless for the first 6:17 of the game. But the Firebirds would score the next 14 points and never look back in a 56-33 win over the Hi-Liners in girls basketball Saturday at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.

Ramsey Brown led the Firebirds, who are 14-0 in the EDC and 15-0 overall, with 15 points. Abby Johnson had nine points and three assists. Laiala Gourd just missed the double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Brooke Eggermont led the Hi-Liners with game highs 17 points and 12 rebounds. Peyton Pederson added six points and Lindsey Noeske had eight rebounds.
