JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High basketball teams welcomed in Bismarck High on Tuesday night for a pair of crucial West Region match-ups.
GBB: Bismarck 73, Blue Jays 59.
Bismarck High jumped on the Jays early taking an 18-10 lead in the first half. Jamestown got the offense going before the break and took the lead with a 17-2 run to lead 34-30 at the break. The first meeting between the two was a lopsided 74-46 win for Jamestown, but the Demons got Cadee Ryckman back from injury and have turned up the tempo to their game.
Jamestown lead 38-35 just a few minutes after halftime, but the Demons raced on a 23-4 run to seize control. Grace Hegerle had 20 to pace the Jays. Payton Gerving lead BHS with 21.

Bismarck’s frantic pace and pressure was diced up by Boden Skunberg and Carson Lamp in a 15-point win for the Jays. The two guards dished out 14 assists, most going to Brooks Carroll who finished with a game-high and career-high 29.
Skunberg finished two assists shy of a triple-double with 25 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists. Two other Jays also had double-doubles; Carroll with 29 and 10 and Keith Levin with 14 and 15. The Jays out rebounded BHS 63-36, a dominate performance on the glass.
The win gives Jamestown a three-game cushion in the WDA standings into the final three weeks of the season.
Jamestown travels to Dickinson on Friday night for a West Region doubleheader.
