Sheridan Visser of Reeder, N.D. won the NDFB Young Farmer and Rancher Discussion Meet at the Farm and Ranch Conference, January 31 – February 2, 2020, in Fargo at the Holiday Inn. The Discussion Meet is an exchange of ideas and information from participants on a predetermined topic.
“I am excited and driven by the growth and personal development that the state-level discussion meet has brought on,” said Visser. “Preparing for, researching and competing in this year’s 2020 state discussion meet has been an opportunity of overall growth and pure excitement. I am very blessed to have been given this opportunity.”
Visser and her husband are first-generation ranchers, building their own operation from the ground up. Along with their commercial black baldy beef cows, they have branched into the Corriente cow market, and raise Spanish and Boer meat goats.
Visser took home a Polaris four-wheeler and will compete at the AFBF YF&R Discussion Meet January 8-13, 2021 in San Diego, Calif.
“I look forward to this next year of training, gaining knowledge and growing as a more confident individual,” said Visser. “I believe the journey is just as important as the outcome. I hope to gain strong connections with industry leaders and other Farm Bureau members as I prepare for the national competition.”
The final four participants in the discussion meet were Sheridan Visser of Reeder, Billy Ogdahl of Milnor, Chris Gartner of Dickinson, and Katie Skalicky of Fargo.
