KULM, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals had nine players score and improve to 6-0 in District 5 play as they defeat the Rebels of Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 55-18 in Class B Girls Basketball. Carrington is now 14-2 overall, EKM drops to 2-3 in D5 and 7-9 overall.
Carrington jumped out early on, leading 12-0 before the Rebels scored a bucket. Hannah Hagel and Kiera Eli led the way for Carrington with 12 each, Eli dropped in four 3-pointers. Maren Berntson led the way for EKM with eight. Carrington has now completed their district schedule and have only three regular season games left, they will be the number one seed and receive a first round bye in the girls district 5 tournament that starts on Friday, February 14th at the Jamestown Civic Center.
Next up for No. 9 Carrington will be on Monday night in Carrington against Harvey/Wells County, KDAK will broadcast the game starting about 7pm.

In a District 5 boys contest Friday night, Rory Gentzkow had 21 points to help the Loboes defeat the Cardinals in Carrington. Seth Nelson led the way for Carrington with 23. LLM improves to 2-1 in D5 and 7-6 overall, Carrington drops to 0-3 in D5 and 1-13 overall. Next up for Carrington will be Friday, Feb. 7th in Ellendale, KDAK will have coverage starting about 645pm.
