The North Dakota Game & Fish Department states that any person born after 1961 must complete a certified state or provincial hunter education course and present the certification card earned to the license vendor to purchase a North Dakota hunting license.

The exception is those who hunt only on land they own or operate or persons under 12 years of age.

Classes in the area are set in:

New Rockford – March 5th
Oakes March – 26th
Valley City – February 17th
Jamestown – March 23rd & 27th
