JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With nearly two years under her belt, Michelle Watne with DeClutter Me in Jamestown knows what it takes to start a business from the ground up.
Watne got the idea to begin her business after speaking with Katherine Roth of the Jamestown Regional Entrepreneur Center (JREC). DeClutter Me helps anyone get rid of clutter that may be taking up already limited amounts of space.
Today, Watne has helped offices, homes, businesses, and more declutter their space. She says meeting with Roth and the JREC helped put the pieces together to begin her business.
One of the biggest hurdles for her business was marketing and making others aware that her business is available. Watne pointed out that through the local Chamber of Commerce, she was better able to help network and grow her business. With that experience, she will be teaming up with Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Emily Bivens and Chamber President Mary Lou Urquhart with a panel of “How to Leverage Your Chamber of Commerce.”
Watne says the panel will focus on growing a business through their local chamber of commerce.
Watne’s panel will be held during the JREC Women’s Business Conference on March 12th in Jamestown.
The Women’s Business Conference will also cover other women-owned business displays, provide educational sessions on a wide range of topics, and offer one-on-one counseling for specific business questions.
Early tickets are available through February 1st for $15. You can learn more at jrecenter.com.
