MITCHELL, S.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The Jimmie basketball teams traveled to Mitchell, SD for a doubleheader with Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday night in GPAC play.

Jack Talley (JR/Sioux Falls, SD) scored 20 points and was one of four players in double figures as the University of Jamestown men’s basketball team defeated No. 10 Dakota Wesleyan University Wednesday night.
The win was the 16th of the season and 100th in the career of Jimmie head coach Danny Neville. The fifth-year head coach entered this season with a record of 84-42.
Talley and Terrell Alfred (SR/Orlando, FL) each knocked down three three-pointers on the way to 11 points each in the first half.
Jamestown opened the game on a 20-8 run and would go ahead by 15 following Talley’s three with 9:46 in the half.
DWU went on a 21-7 run on the strength of 17 points by Ty Hoglund, and the Tigers found themselves down just one.
An Alfred three-pointer and two more by Talley gave UJ a six-point cushion heading into halftime.
The Tigers tied the game on a Collin Kramer three-pointer with 11:29 in the game, but an Isaiah Dobson (SR/Stillwater, MN) jumper and three-pointer pushed the lead back to six.
DWU had one last run that got them within a point at the 5:15 mark, only to have an 8-0 Jimmie run essentially put the game away.
Alfred finished with 18 while Dobson added 17. Mason Walters (FR/Jamestown, ND) came off the bench to score 12. Brady Birch (JR/Melrose, MN) had nine rebounds to go along with eight points, and Jack Frazier (SR/Salem, OR) passed out four assists and chipped in with seven points.
Hoglund led all scorers with 39. Mason Larson was also in double figures with 14.
Jamestown, now 16-8 overall and 7-7 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference are off until February 5, when they host Mount Marty (S.D.) College at 8 p.m.

Hannah DeMars (FR/Grand Rapids, MN) scored 26 points and grabbed ten rebounds in a losing effort Wednesday night as the University of Jamestown women’s basketball team fell 69-57 to 12th-ranked Dakota Wesleyan University.
The Jimmies trailed 34-22 at the half on 7-of-33 shooting.
In the third quarter, Jamestown used a 20-7 run and took a 42-41 on Kia Tower (FR/Bigfork, MN)’s three-pointer with 2:38 left. DWU responded with an 8-2 run to close out the quarter and lead 49-44 heading to the fourth.
The Tigers went up nine following a three-point play by Kynedi Cheeseman with 7:47 to play, and maintained between a five and ten point lead the rest of the game. DWU scored their final seven points from the foul line as the Jimmies were forced to foul.
Jamestown finished 19-of-64 shooting for 29.7 percent and made 5-of-25 (20 percent) three-point attempts. UJ was 14-of-25 (56 percent) at the free-throw line.
UJ outrebounded the Tigers 46-33, including 18-4 on the offensive glass.
Tower and Olivia Anderson (SR/Edgeley, ND) scored eight points each for the Jimmies, and Anderson finished with nine rebounds, including seven offensive.
UJ (13-9 overall, 7-8 Great Plains Athletic Conference) host College of Saint Mary (Neb.) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
