JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A major fundraiser returns Friday, January 31st in Jamestown during the Sport & Rec Show at the Jamestown Civic Center.
The Jamestown Optimist Club has held their spaghetti fundraiser during the show to raise money for their mission; supporting area youth.
Longtime Optimist Club Member Ken Astrup says they also support the JAWS Swim Program, hockey program, and golf program. To do this, they hold several fundraisers to promote youth in the community.
Astrup says when he first got involved with the fundraiser, he was blown away by the amount they needed to order and put together to prepare.
Astrup says they could serve upwards of 500 people. Any food leftover will be donated to a local food program.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for kids five years and younger. They can be purchased from any Optimist Club member or at the door of the event at the Jamestown Civic Center.
Meals will be served from 5 PM to 8 PM in the Civic Center Exchequer Room.
The Jamestown Optimist Club meets every Thursday at Noon in the KC Hall. Anyone is welcome to join.
