VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School speech team began their season on January 11th with a meet in Valley City against 21 class A and B schools.
There were over 400 individual entries and the Blue Jays placed 4th overall. Individual results include:
Extemporaneous Speaking: Cati Suckow 3rd
Extemporaneous Programmed Reading: Logan Motter 6th
Humorous: Ian Weis 7th
Humorous Duo: Kendra Dawson and Logan Motter 4th, Ian Weis and Westin Walker 8th
Impromptu Speaking: Cati Suckow 3rd
Poetry: Madison Motschenbacher 8th
Serious Duo: Anja McDermid and Ian Weis 6th
Serious Prose: Logan Motter 3rd, Anja McDermid 7th
Speech to Entertain: Paris Eslick 3rd
Speech to Inform: Madison Motschenbacher 7th
On January 25th, the team traveled to Linton to compete against 13 class A and B schools.
The team achieved great success at this tournament with Jackson Arends, Anja McDermid, Madison Mostenbacher, Keelie Renwick, Ashlyn Schauer, Ian Weis all qualifying for state.
