BISMARCK (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High basketball teams traveled to Bismarck to play their first games inside the new high school at St. Mary’s.

GBB: St. Mary’s 59, Jamestown 56.

Jamestown lead late in the game before St. Mary’s stormed back to take the lead. Abby Kopp gave the Saints the lead and they eventually pushed it six in the final minutes. The Jays got two straight steals from Ella Falk to close the deficit, but Kam Selvig’s three at the buzzer hit the front rim.

Grace Hegerle was a force for the Jays pouring in 25 to lead the Jays. Kopp finished with 26.

BBB: Jamestown 91, St. Mary’s 79.

St. Mary’s jumped out to an 11-0 lead before Carson Lamp hit the first shot for the Jays. Jamestown took their first lead at 23-21 and lead the rest of the way. Lamp poured in a team high 25. Boden Skunberg was on triple-double pursuit with 21 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.

The Saints were playing without their head coach Brent DeKok who was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night as he continues to battle cancer. Jaxon Wiseman lead the way with 31 for the Saints.
