JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department was called to St. John’s Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were called to 424 1st Ave S for a reported fire in the basement at around 2:10 PM. The Department reports that a malfunction in the air handling unit in the lower level caused smoke throughout the church. Crews spent their time on scene extracting smoke.

Damage was reported to the air handling unit.

Three units and nine firefighters were on scene for around 45 minutes.
