JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As the City of Jamestown Street Department works on removing snow on city streets, the Jamestown Police Department is asking residents to only travel if absolutely necessary.

Jamestown Police Lt. Sid Mann reports that crews finished emergency snow routes as of 11:30 AM this morning and will be transitioning to residential areas until 11 PM tonight.

A car sits under a drift in the Northeast part of Jamestown.

“At that time they will begin clearing the business district,” Lt. Mann reports.

With conditions safer in regards to weather and visibility, the department is still asking the public to stay put unless absolutely necessary.

“Side streets still have deep snow and vehicles will get stuck and delay the snow removal process,” Lt. Mann pointed out.

Jamestown reportedly received around 16 inches reported from the North Dakota State Hospital.
