GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Officials with the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch from 6am Saturday through Monday morning. Snow will begin to fall Saturday and gain intensity into the evening through Sunday.
More than 6 inches of snow likely in many areas and up to 12 inches likely in a portion of southeastern North Dakota into Minnesota’s southern end of the Red River Valley.
Freezing rain possible near the North Dakota South Dakota border as well as west-central and northern Minnesota on Saturday
Wind gusts are expected to increase Saturday night and Sunday with blowing and drifting snow expected in the open country. The snowfall could be heavy as times during this storm.
