JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched late Tuesday morning to a garage fire in southwest Jamestown.

Lieutenant Sheldon Mohr says the department was dispatched at 11:23am Tuesday to 435 7th Street Southwest to a report of a garage fire on an alley behind the home it belongs to. The occupants of the home were not there at the time. Ottertail Power Company and Montana-Dakota Utilities were called to disconnect service in order to contain the fire.

Mohr believes the garage is a total loss.

The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was also called in to assist with equipment but remained on standby.

The fire remains under investigation.
