VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Police Department and several other law enforcement agencies are teaming up for the annual Santa, Cops and Kids program.
Law enforcement officers pair up with a child to enjoy a meal at Pizza Corner before shopping for gifts. Volunteers will wrap up the gifts at the Dacotah Bank Pavilion in Chautauqua Park in Valley City.
Police Chief Phil Hatcher said this event is conducted every year thanks to the generous donations from businesses and individuals. He said if you see a heavy police presents on Saturday, December 21st don’t be alarmed.
The children are selected based on financial hardship, family loss, military deployment, or other circumstances that make the holiday season a little harder to endure.
If an individual or business would like to donate to Santa, Cops and Kids mail your donation to the Valley City Police Department or drop them off at the Police Department. If donating with a check, make checks payable to James Valley Lodge #4.
