NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Senior Kiera Eli poured in 20 points, including four treys to help the Cardinals of Carrington defeat the Rockets of New Rockford/Sheyenne Tuesday night 62-48. RV Carrington is now 5-0, NR/S drops to 3-3.

The Cardinals led 25-23 at half, they dropped in 23 points in the third quarter to take a 48-32 lead after three. Senior Marah Schmitz added 12, including two 3-pointers, Sophomore Sydnie Grager had 10 off the bench for Carrington. Dani Bjerke had 14 for the Rockets, including three treys, Senior Hannah Haley added 11.

Next up for Carrington is Thursday at Glenfield against fellow District 5 team Midkota. KDAK will have coverage of the varsity contest starting about 7pm.
