JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High boys basketball kept their win streak alive Tuesday night at Jerry Meyer Arena with the state’s leading scoring sitting at home with the flu. The Jays beat Legacy 63-54 for their 31st consecutive win.

Carson Lamp, who was also dealing with the flu, lead the Jays offense with 16 points including seven free throws to close out the game. Shea and Brooks Carroll also helped pick up the slack, both were in double-figures with 15 and 13, respectively. Brooks Carroll had 11 in the first half.

Jamestown will head to Belcourt on Friday to play Turtle Mountain.

GBB: Legacy 44, Blue Jays 34.

The old adage is, “basketball is a game of runs,” and no game in my recent memory has quite encapsulated that like this one. Legacy jumped out to a 12-2 lead, only to see Jamestown take control into halftime. The Jays lead 28-18 at the break after closing the final 13 minutes of the half on a 26-6 run.

However in the second half, Jamestown could only muster six points. Grace Hegerle had all six and four of them came from the charity stripe. Legacy outscored the Jays 26-6 in the final 18 minutes.
